COGNOS: INCREASING THE NUMBER OF ROWS IN MS-EXCEL OUTPUT

Cognos allow us to view the report output in different format including MS-Excel 2007.

By default Cognos allow us to display 65000 rows in MS-Excel, but this can be increased

up to 1048576 rows. We can achieve this by doing some changes at Cognos administrator

level. Here are the simple steps

- Open Cognos Administrator
- Select System under Status tab
- Click on BatchReportService. Click on Set Property and set the following variables

RSVP.EXCEL.EXCEL_2007_LARGE_WORKSHEET - true
RSVP.EXCEL.EXCEL_2007_WORKSHEET_MAXIMUM_ROWS - 1048576

- Run the report in MS-Excel format and you will be able to display upto 1048576 records
in a sheet.

  2. Hi,

I have done everything as explained here and in all other pages, but it has no effect on Excel 2007 FORMAT. Services have been restarted. In Excel 2007 DATA it seems to work fine.

Any idea what could be wrong?

Same for RSVP.EXCEL.XLS2007_COLUMN_WIDTH_CONTROL. I do not see the effect of this setting.

    Best regards
    Radek

  3. Thank you. This worked fine for me. However, the changes have to be made to both reportservice and batchreportservice. This Cognos KB article is helpful too: https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/SSEP7J_11.0.0/com.ibm.swg.ba.cognos.ug_cra.doc/t_config_lgwrkst_ex.html
